Fall Trends: The Color Purple – Part 1

Let me guide you to the purple rain

By season’s end, I find myself weary of the hot weather, the sound of flip-flops, and the overly (fake) tan bodies Summer entails. With the temperature slowly descending, I’m itching to put my Fall wardrobe in effect. One trend I am digging is the color purple (particularly in footwear). Which for me, conjures thoughts of the divine musician Prince cutting a rug on stage in some fabulous purple heels. I think it’s best not to ask ourselves what section of the store he got such shoes from, but instead follow his lead.

Wondering if you should invest in this trend or if you could even pull it off? Don’t worry, I’ve got your best interests in mind. For my gals who refuse to give up their standard black uniform; pair deep purple shoes with your little black dress or your every day slacks for some excitement. For the Casual Sophisticate, combine purple boots with dark wash denim. For my rebels, get funky! Maybe pair purple heels with a teal top, along with charcoal pants for work, or black tights and a printed tunic for hanging out.

From peep toes, to boots, to the luxurious…here are my first round picks for purple kicks…
